ACTIVITIES DURING NOVEMBER 2013

East London Mobile Workshop at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

20, 21, 22 & 27, 28, 29 November, 11am – 4pm daily

Timber Lodge, FREE

The roaming East London Mobile Workshop (ELMO) will be taking up residence at the Timber Lodge in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.  Sound artist and designer Yuri Suzuki will be on hand running workshops to make your own instruments from everyday materials and objects, while Dentaku Studio will be working with their project ‘OTOTO’, which allows anyone to unpack a kit and interact with sound. Funding Workshop in partnership with Stratford Rising

Tuesday 26th November, 6 – 8pm

Stratford Circus, FREE   Following on from a well-attended workshop last year, we’re pleased to announce another funding workshop with talks detailing different funding streams available to artists and arts organisations based in Newham, Hackney, Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets. There will be speakers from Arts Council England, Tower Hamlets Council, as well as the new timebanking scheme ECHO which will explain how you can trade expertise and skills instead of money.

The programme is as follows

18:15-18:20 – Introduction: Adriana Marques – Arts & Culture Principal at LLDC
18:20-18:40 – Arts Council England: Jo Baxendale, applying to ACE’s grants for the arts
18:40-19:00 – East London Small Business Centre: Pauline Barnett, ELSBC’s business support and loan fund for the creative sector
19:00-19:20 – Tower Hamlets Council: Alison Denning, Small Grants Fund in the borough
19:20-19:40 – ECHO: Matthew McStravick, introduction to the scheme, trading expertise and skills instead of money
19:40-20:00 – Networking

The workshop is free to attend but you will have to book through Eventbrite
