The first range of products from five Hidden Art members were launched at 100% Design in September 2007 under the brand name Hidden Art Select.
Hidden Art Select aimed to build on the success of the Hidden Art E-Shop and helped demonstrate that Hidden Art designer-makers (and Hidden Art) had the necessary retail and wholesale product development expertise required to bid for and secure an Olympic Product Licence in 20010/11. In 2007 the theme for Hidden Art Select was “Room 2007”
Jeeves & Wooster by Jake Phipps – The Jeeves & Wooster series were designed as a playful take on lighting with a real sense of cultural identity. The hat is an object that often associates its wearer with a particular society, heritage or race. The bowler and top hat are classic British cultural icons reflecting a bygone era of imperialism, class divide, and eccentricity.
Hidden Colour Screen by Jonathan Field -The ‘Hidden Colour’ screen has a secret to reveal – once out of the box and placed in-front of a window, light catches the screen. The internal surface reflects colour onto the white visible surface giving a radiant green wash that changes with the intensity of the outside light.
Creep Pendant by Susan Bradley Design – The Creep pendant shade is a brand new design that brings together the natural beauty of wood with delicate and intricate leafy detailing.
Egg Candleholder by Michelle Mason – The Egg Candleholder is designed to hold a standard 2cms diameter candle. Can also be used to hold a single flower head, bamboo stem or plant cutting.
Species by Olivia of Sweden – Species ranges of tiles are at once decorative and inspiring, and can be used in different configurations to create real impact. They remind us of natural beauty and the beauty of the subterranean world of root systems. Choose from either the bug or flower series to create a unique statement.
