The Chelsea Fringe 2012

30th May 2012

It’s lovely to see The Geffrye Museum taking part in the first year of The Chelsea Fringe! Having never been to the actual Chelsea Flower Show myself, it’s great to get the chance to see some beautiful flower, plant and garden events in the local area – in fact, right at my doorstep! Not only is this great for all professionals and enthusiasts, but attractive to design lovers and their families too.

The Chelsea Fringe is an entirely volunteer-run initiative, featuring a mixture of public spectacles, horticultural happenings and community celebrations at a variety of venues and locations across London. Running for 3 weeks it will be able to give people an opportunity to express themselves freely through the medium of plants and gardens.

Although acting independently of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, they are greatly supported by the parent organisation. By giving a platform for both professionals and enthusiasts, the Fringe is open to all, with anything from installations to exhibits and talks.

The Geffrye Museum have been chosen to locate the mesmerizing Aromatic Herbs Mobile produced and installed by Michela Pasquali, which can be found at the end of the Museum near the Geffrye shop.

Here’s a little snippet of the mobile in action on our YouTube account:
