The Cornwall Design has come out of the Design Fair that was first run by Hidden Art Cornwall. Hidden Art Cornwall ran its first Design Fair in 2006 with 65 designer-makers, growing to over 80 in 2008 with an exhibition of selected work inside Godolphin House itself called Hidden Art Curated, as well as design-led entertainment for families.
In 2009 the first Cornwall Design Fair held in association with Hidden Art took place successfully at the inaugural fair at Trereife Park with fifty-one designer-makers. In 2012 seventy-six designer-makers booked in for the fair with just under 4,000 visitors.
