On Saturday 27 July Hackney Brewery is celebrating its 8th birthday in the Geffrye Museum of the Home’s garden in Hoxton. Across two sessions, (12-4pm and 5-9pm), ticket holders will enjoy craft beer from 10 breweries, delicious street food, talks centred on community, food and drink, and lifestyle stalls. There will be a strong environmental focus, showcasing naturally sourced, organic produce with a range of vegan options across the food and drink available.
The breweries present include some of the UK’s most exciting names, bringing the country’s best beer to East London. These include: Burning Sky Brewery (Firle), Cloudwater Brew Co (Manchester), Left Handed Giant (Bristol), North Brewing Co (Leeds), Northern Monk Brewing Co (Leeds), Polly’s Brew Co (Mold, Wales), Track Brewing Co (Manchester), Verdant Brewing Co (Falmouth) and Wylam Brewery (Newcastle). Hackney Brewery will also be pouring some special beers alongside their core range on the day.
Also on offer will be a selection of natural wines from Renegade Wine London, spirits from East London Liquor Company, cocktails on tap from Lucky Pineapple and Hingston & Co and natural soft drinks from Square Root Soda.
Among the speakers are some of the most respected names in craft beer, including authors Pete Brown and Claire Bullen. They are joined by Matthew Curtis and Jonny Hamilton from the newly launched food and drink magazine, Pellicle, and Warwick Smith from Renegade Wine, who will be demystifying natural wines.
There will also be a Kubb tournament on the Geffrye lawn. Kubb is a Swedish game that’s best described as a combination of bowling and horseshoes and is very easy to learn.
Tickets are £15 (plus booking fee) and include entry for one session, a can of Hackney’s limited edition Birthday Beer, a festival glass and a tote bag. To book, visit: https://bit.ly/2ZqZzBU
