Clive Beecham is a retried chocolate manufacturer with a passion to help aspiring heritage craftspeople set up or sustain their own businesses, particularly those facing high rental scenarios or having a lack of space.
With units coming on stream in early July, Grandey’s Place will offer subsidised rentals for up to 3 years, dependent upon the nature of the particular craft and the individual’s business plan. For example a 250 sq ft unit will have a headline rent before subsidy, of £55 per week plus VAT, which includes a parking space, rates, non-profit site service charge and a lovely working environment. The other larger units have similar pro-rata charges and all come with lockable roll up doors, with natural light. Local Harlow Accounting firm, GWC, will also offer free monthly clinics on site as well as offering 3 years of subsidised accounting services to anyone who ultimately becomes a client.
A key feature of the site is its proximity to the critical London Market, nestling as it does between the M25, A10 and M11, some 15 miles from London.
