Rentaro Nishimura who sells his designs on the Hidden Art E-Shop here will be exhibiting this year at Designjunction during the London Design Festival. He will be exhibiting with Material Consequences that consists of six designers who all met at Cockpit Arts, the creative hub located in Bloomsbury. They are united by a thoughtful, innovative and often playful approach to materials.
Their diverse collection shares a reflection of the many techniques and processes involved in designing and making – of time and effect, material considerations and consequential discoveries.
Multidisciplinary designer Rentaro Nishimura draws on principles of origami, repeat modular forms, self-assembly and flat-pack designs. He uses the latest digital technology of 3d printers and laser cutting and bridges the gap between craft and technology. This results in intricate geometric 3D printed jewellery.
