The London Cheese Project returns for the third time to Hoxton this May with its biggest celebration yet. Unlike trend chasers, this festival is curated by cheese people on a mission to showcase the industry’s true artisans.

The three-day festival, to be held in the beautiful gardens of the Geffrye Museum, will feature an unparalleled line up of the UK’s best cheese makers, cheesemongers and street food chefs at the forefront of the British cheese renaissance. These include: Paxton & Whitfield, England’s oldest cheese shop; Mike’s Fancy Cheese, makers of Northern Ireland’s first raw milk blue cheese; and The Cheese Truck, serving up irresistible grilled cheese sandwiches from their iconic yellow ice cream van.

Along with the opportunity to meet and buy directly from the most exciting names in artisan cheese, The London Cheese Project also offers one-off, limited edition cheeses, made especially for the festival as part of collaborations between cheesemakers and mongers.

Underpinning the event is a commitment to improve understanding and appreciation of real cheese, as well as broader issues within the food industry. The London Cheese Project provides attendees with the opportunity to connect with, and learn from, the very people producing their food.

Throughout the weekend there will be a full programme of free talks, tastings and demos on topics such as urban cheesemaking with Gringa Dairy, mozzarella-making with La Latteria and the art of cheddar with Quickes. Further in-depth ticketed tastings will cover topics such as raw milk, beer and cheese pairing and how to push the boundaries of the cheeseboard.

The London Cheese Project will also be working with Le Cave De Pyrene and Fourpure to offer a range of natural wines and craft beer in-keeping with the festival’s focus on small producers. Live music and a wall of cheddar are other highlights of the festival.

All traders are selected on their commitment to high quality produce, and their in-depth knowledge of their products. The London Cheese Project continues to differentiate from other cheese festivals with a promise of quality, reasonable queues and a cracking good time. No bad cheese puns or factory-made products: The London Cheese Project does things differently.

Some of London’s favourite street food traders, who are committed to using artisan cheese, will also be joining the line-up this year, with Mother Flipper and Butchies serving one-off cheesy takes on their usual menus.
