Friday 5 and Saturday 6 August – Background Bars

Taking inspiration from the Geffrye’s historical gardens and museum, Background Bars have curated a cocktail list inspired by fresh English botanicals. Expect plant life to play an important part in the flavours and garnishes of the cocktails, with herbs being handpicked, that morning, from the museum’s very own garden. Drinks such as Herbal-infused Pimms and Hurricane Hazel: fresh Cucumber Juice, Elderflower and Gin, alongside a select offering of wines and spirits.

Fridays 12 and 26, Saturdays 13 and 27 August – Sweetdram

Sweetdram is a group of young distillers based in Dalston, who are focused on developing & creating Modern Liqueurs. In other words liqueurs that are sippable, dry and full of plants. For two weekends in August Sweetdram are collaborating with the bartenders from the Department of Good Cheer on a cocktail menu inspired by the gardens at the Geffrye Museum. Expect distillates, atomisations & herbal mascerations of a most exciting nature…

Fridays 2 and 16, Saturdays 3 and 17 September – Gimlet Bar

“On a trip to the Geffrye Museum’s gardens in May, when they were brimming with tender herbs and flowers, we took an armful of cuttings back to our kitchen and began infusing and fermenting. Essences made from the garden cuttings will be mixed with our summer fruit and flower wines, spiced cordials and the best spirits to create deliciously playful cocktails; served, of course, alongside our world famous Gimlets.”
