For this year’s London Design Festival Kukka is presenting an exclusive composition of surfaces and tables in collaboration with Caesarstone at TENT London, 24-27 September 2015.
The 1141 Table will also be exhibited at The Art of Progress Exhibition at 19 Greek Street during the London Design Festival.
Rona Meyuchas Koblenz originally created the limited edition piece, 1141 Table, for inclusion within the Green Room at design junction, Salone del Mobile, Milan back in April 2015. The Green Room was a space dedicated to showcasing sustainable design.
1141 was inspired from mining methods in a quarry, the stone results in a chiseled edge.
The designer used reclaimed Caesarstone® quartz surface 1141 for the table top using CNC machine and then it’s polished by hand. The metal legs are hand turned.
Due to the positive reception and acclaim that followed the launch in April, the 1141 Collection was born offering the 1141 Table in different sizes, heights and quartz surfaces.
The designer, having worked with Caesarstone’s different materials, was inspired by its manufacturing techniques, different textures and tactile sensations. Rona will thus present the installation for the exhibition reflecting on her personal experiences with the surfaces and the 1141 Collection. The installation is inspired by the observation of the traditional techniques of work with stone surfaces. The name Thirty Four, was created in reference to Caesarstone’s colour palette focusing on the supernatural series.
Eli Feiglin, VP marketing of Caesarstone, emphasizes: ‘Caesarstone continuously aims to inspire and challenge the creative world to use its surface materials in innovative ways. We are proud to be a part of London Design Festival and excited that Rona MeyuchasKoblenz, once again, chose to use our product in her design.’
Designer Rona Meyuchas-Koblenz adds: ‘Thirty Four Project highlights an imprinted memory and acknowledges the nature of the material, combining Caesarstone surfaces and the Quartz material in a unique interpretation. It has been really inspiring to work with Caesarstone material and manufacturers and a great honour to be invited to work on the installation at Tent London’
