15th to 17th August 2014
Entered 15 July 2014
From the 15th to 17th August the Cornwall Design Fair will again be opening it’s doors to design lovers from Cornwall and beyond. Held on the stunning grounds of the 18th century Trereife House near Penzance, there will be a chance to experience some local history as well as modern design. At the Fair you will find the very best of Cornish design as well as talent from the rest of the UK and further afield.
Products for sale range from jewellery, to ceramics and furniture. It will also include the Leach Pottery from St Ives. Exhibitors include embroiderer Linda Miller, who has work in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, to local Jewellers such as Rose Karensa and Justin Duance, who are working to put Cornish design on the map. As well as the renowned Sheffield silversmith Brett Payne.
In addition there will be a wide range of activities available, including workshops, demonstrations and talks. Children can take part in design led activities from Truro Art, storytelling, music, and other entertainment. The café will be selling local produce.
MakerNow will give demonstrations and talks. MakerNow is a digital fabrication laboratory (FabLab), set up through Falmouth University to help inspire and educate people through the use of cutting edge technology in an area of art that’s usually regarded as traditionally ‘hand made’.
