Hidden Art at 100% Design 2011 – sneak preview

September might seem like a long way off (unless the weather has fooled you into thinking autumn’s here already) but at Hidden Art we’re well into planning our stand for 100% Design 2011. It’s an annual exhibition of cutting-edge and contemporary interior design, which this year takes place from the 22-25 Sept during the London Design Festival. You can see some photos from our stand last year on our Facebook page.

Hidden Art have been showing at 100% since the beginning, and this year we’ll be exhibiting 8 new designs by 5 different companies, all based on the theme  ‘Inspiring the Future’ . We wanted to show products that are forward-looking, whether in concept or design, and we think we’ve come up with a really great collection. It was very difficult to choose from all the applications, but after a hardcore afternoon of Powerpoint, tea and biscuits, we narrowed it down to the products below. Keep reading for a sneak preview.

Scene Design, who’ve worked with Hidden Art before, are showing the Shard coat stand (made from powder coated steel and inspired by a shard of ice) and the Poly lighting range (based on a geodesic dome)

RALLI Design are producing two products made from slip-cast earthenware and ash wood – the FIKA tea set and the SHUFFLE Desk tidy. These products stack to save space, are beautifully and simply designed, and are made in England.

Joyojoy are showing the  ‘joy!’ chair. The birch plywood back swoops around in a beautiful curve, and the feet have a bespoke self levelling foot exclusive to this chair.

Being Blease are exhibiting Loop – a circular mirror suspended by a looping leather strap, hung from a fixed wall peg. The peg is easily fixed to any type of wall, whilst the leather strap fits snugly and securely around the mirror frame. Simple lines, contrasting leather colours with natural oiled wood.

And finally we’ve selected two bowls from DevereuX – a stunning glass piece called StarRay, which pushes the boundaries of casting a single-piece glass form. From a dense cluster of tiny 4-point stars, a big bang of arcing girders expands upward to form this spacious bowl.

And a double-walled slipcast ceramic bowl in vibrant colours called ZiZaRi

As well as the collection of products above, we’ll once again be presenting the Hidden Art Design Store, where you can browse and buy the best-selling products from our online shop. We hope to see you there!
